Bush’s Iraqi Vietnam

Whenever Yankee soldiers die
I cry, I cry with sheer delight
because I know without a lie
we’re getting closer to the end of night.

It does not seem to matter
who they invade or who they shatter
or how many civilians have to die
or how many mothers have to cry
if they’re not from the USA
then they’re just in the bloody way.

In the larger scheme of things
the sound of silence rings
justice is lost in the rush
for that final winning push
for the oil or for the gold
lives are bought and sold.

Whenever Yankee soldiers die
I cry, I cry with sheer delight
because I know without a lie
we’re getting closer – the end’s in sight
